Tonight I held a small, young, Brazilian hand during the closing prayer of the bible study at Vila Rosalina Presbyterian Church. The lesson was from John 15 and Galatians 5. I am truly blessed to be here living, praying and worshiping with the Brazilian people.
I finally arrived in Rio Verde, Brazil on Tuesday, September 4, 2007. After a year of planning and prepartation I am in the place I believe God is calling me to be for the next year. Big hugs and thanks to those of you who were part of the dreaming, planning, praying, crying, laughing and waiting.
The Santos (Lucia and Eudoxio - my hosts and adopted parents for the next year) have a roomy home on the hospital grounds. I have my own room and even better, my very own bathroom! (Note in the picutre in my snapfish album there is no yucky shower curtain to attack me! :)) Their house has wireless and 2 hammocks so I am pretty much set.
Last night Lucia and I went grocery shopping. We had a lot of fun and spent almost two hours because we were naming everything in the store in Portuguese and in English. We are helping each other learn. I think this will be an excellent year.
