My cousin Ana, Aunt Helena's daughter, is having a big, formal party to celebrate her graduation on Aug. 25. Since I will still be living with the them, I am to go! After breakfast this morning Ana drove me to a fancy bridal shop to meet her mother and her sister, Ivy. (pronounced Evey) Aunt Helena told me I could pick out any dress in the room and she would rent it for me to wear to the party. wow, well, Sure! Soon I had women all around me zipping and pulling dresses over my head and commenting in Portuguese. The final result was a bright teal blue dress with some swirls of beads (imitating peacock feathers). I think it will be a very fun evening; well morning really, the party starts at 11pm and will go to 6am! Nossa. (oh my in Portuguese)
